RCRA/DOT Training hosted by Liquid Waste Removal (LWR)
If you manage and ship hazardous waste, you must meet training requirements for both the U.S. EPA’s hazardous waste management rules and the U.S. DOT’s rules for packaging, labeling, loading, and documenting shipments of hazardous materials.
The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) requires training for personnel involved with hazardous waste management. This training session meets the regulatory requirements for both initial and annual refresher training and includes the following topics:
- Overview of Hazardous Waste Regulations
- Hazardous Waste Determinations
- Generator Classification
- Hazardous Waste Management Standards for Containers and Tanks
- Satellite Accumulation Standards
- Personnel Training
- Land Disposal Restrictions
- Manifesting
- Used Oil and Universal Waste
- Updates on New Rules, Including the Generator Improvement Rule
- Common Violations and How to Avoid Them
- Contingency Plans and Emergency Procedures
This DOT training and testing complies with requirements applicable to hazardous waste shippers. This training is geared to those who complete and sign hazardous waste manifests to ship waste by highway. Training is required every 3 years. Topics to be covered include:

Training Details
The training will be presented on Thursday, May 16th at The Matterhorn Conference Center located at 2041 Cassopolis Street Elkhart, IN 46514.
Sign-in begins at 8:00 AM, and the RCRA training session starts at 8:30. Lunch is included, followed by DOT training from 1:00-4:00 PM. Training material and certificates will be provided for both sessions (DOT participants must successfully pass a written exam). Please note, both RCRA and DOT have additional recordkeeping requirements that will not be fulfilled solely by participating in the course or receiving a certificate or course slides.
Cost: $185 each session ($350 total for RCRA and DOT training). Three or more attendees discounted to $165 each session, $300 for both sessions. Fees are Non-Refundable.
