Safety’s Impact on Recruiting and Retention – OSHA Breakfast

February 16, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am

$20.00

Zoom Attendance ONLY

In an environment where there’s a seemingly never-ending challenge to recruit and retain employees, the February OSHA Council Breakfast topic will be a secret weapon in that battle.  Dr. I. David Daniels, President/CEO of ID2 Solutions, will focus on how an organization’s Safety Culture can have a tremendous impact on recruiting and retention; not only from the physical aspect of keeping employees safe but also from a psychological standpoint.  Dr. Daniels will be approaching the topic from several vantage points:

  • Safety culture – A discussion about the concept, its origins, and how it affects an organization.
  • Psychological safety – The concept, its origins, and its connection to the culture
  • The recruitment, selection, and retention process and why safety matters in each aspect of the efforts to assemble human capital

Dr. Daniels is uniquely qualified to share on this topic; he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Services Administration, a master’s degree in human resources management, and a Ph.D. in Occupational Health and Safety.  He serves as a member of the National Safety Council’s Board of Directors and has served over 30 years in fire/rescue, emergency medical, and emergency management organizations in three states, including three appointments as a Fire Chief.
