DESCRIPTION:Neuro-Yoga\nNeuro-Muscular-Cortical Re-Patterning is a technique that involves your nervous system\, your muscular system\, and the motor cortex of the brain. These three body systems are in constant communication with one another\, and the health of their relationship determines the body’s structural health & suppleness.\nThe object of this technique is to free the skeletal system of holding patterns that inhabit you from being spontaneous and free\, and that block the the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. These movements teach your body to let go of old restrictive patterns that it has been holding onto\, like contraction\, fear\, and shame. It resets the body to be open to new energy\, as well as journeying back to it’s original flow state where movement is meant to be fluid and at ease. This guided floor movement work gives your body new choices. Once your brain learns a new way of doing something that requires less energy than a previous way of doing it\, it drops the old way and accepts the new\, more energy-efficient option. It takes much more energy to hold a part of your body in contraction than it does to let it be free\, joyful\, and spontaneous.\nCost is $20 or is included with membership!

SUMMARY:Lunchtime Live with Celia Weiss – Kimball Organ Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Lerner is pleased to welcome an Elkhart favorite\, Celia Weiss\, back on The Lerner’s 1924 Kimball Organ in this free community series. \nCelia Weiss is one of few musical artists who hold the enviable record of having served as a soloist on two different musical instruments. A pianist and organist well known to local audiences\, the artist has appeared on numerous occasions with the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra\, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra\, the IUSB Philharmonic\, the Manchester University Symphony Orchestra\, and in recitals throughout the area. \nMrs. Weiss is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at IUSB for the Raclin School of the Arts where she teaches organ. She is a past recipient of the IUSB Merit Status and Outstanding Alumni Awards. She holds a B.M.E from Manchester College and a M.M. in Piano from Indiana University. An educator as well as a performer\, she has taught music in the Elkhart and Goshen Community Schools and piano at Goshen College. Since 1975 she has held the position of Director of Music and Organist for the First Presbyterian Church in Elkhart. She is a frequent accompanist for the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra and performs several piano and organ concerts for the Lerner Theatre’s “Lunchtime Live!” each year. \nThe 1924 Kimball pipe organ located in Elkhart\, Indiana’s Lerner Theatre is one of only two Kimball pipe organs currently installed in its original location. The organ was restored following the 2011 renovation of the theatre which opened on Thanksgiving Day\, 1924. After the restoration\, a crew of nearly 20 from Bunn-Minnick Pipe Organs of Columbus\, Ohio\, spent three weeks hoisting equipment and filling the two pipe chambers with more than 1\,000 pipes. The project absorbed nearly 10\,000 man-hours for the crew over a year.
