SUMMARY:Into the Whirlwind: The Arts\, Faith\, and Transcendence
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered what it is about art (music\, theatre\, dance\, film\, visual art) that grabs our attention and gives us an uplifting feeling? “Into the Whirlwind” explores why and how the arts do that. This series will explore something we all value: creativity. And examine how creativity is the key to working together\, enjoying our common humanity\, and experiencing Divine presence. I will not break things down into the categories of ‘sacred and profane’ but how many art works have a transcendent value. Lauren Friesen is David M. French Professor Emeritus\, University of Michigan. \nMay 9\, 10\, 11\, 12 | 2 – 3:30 p.m. also offered via Zoom
