Employer Educational Support Award
The Employer Educational Support Award recognizes those Chamber Member businesses, corporations, and institutions that take an active involvement in the continuing educational development of their employees through company benefits, resources and use of time. The Education Council of the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce evaluates nominations received. Candidates will be judged using the following criteria:
- Scope of Commitment: Emphasis on percentage of tuition reimbursement granted to employees, percentage of total employees enrolled in a higher learning institution, and percentage of those students that graduate.
- Use of time: Emphasis will be on time given to employees to pursue their educational goals or mentoring assistance and other educational assisting programs set up by the employer.
- Impact on employee: Consideration is given to those employers that promote or recognize those employees who have obtained a degree or certification as a result of the assistance from the employer.
Guidelines:
- Employer or Employee/Student are asked to nominate Chamber Member businesses, corporations, and institutions that meet the criteria for the award.
- All Elkhart Chamber Member business, corporations, institutions will be invited to participate.
- The Education Council will evaluate the nomination and select a quarterly
winner.
- In addition to the award plaque, the winner will receive media exposure through
The Chamber newsletter and local media.
